data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>TASSC is the successor organization to an informal group of Aboriginal executives called the Toronto Aboriginal Social Services Association (TASSA). Established in the mid-1990s, TASSA met to collectively raise the issues of Aboriginal peoples in the City of Toronto and to share information across organizations. In 2009, TASSA commissioned the Toronto Aboriginal Research Project (TARP) Report, the largest and most comprehensive study ever conducted of Aboriginal peoples in Toronto.<\/p><p>In May 2011, TASSA incorporated and became TASSC, a name more suited to the services TASSC\u2019s member organizations provide. TASSC released the <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/tassc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/TARP-Final-Report-2011.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>TARP: Final Report<\/b><\/a><\/span> in November 2011, which is important because it provides a picture of the current situation, aspirations, and challenges facing Aboriginal peoples in the City of Toronto.
